INTERIM COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CONTROL, SPINAL FLUID, ASSAYED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Interim Commercial Item Description which was developed by the Defense Personnel Support Center, Directorate of Medical Materiel, DPSC-RST, 2800 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19101, based upon currently available technical information.
Salient Characteristics:
Shall be a assayed spinal fluid control for the common chemical constituents of spinal fluid.
As a minimum, the control shall be assayed for the following constituents:
Chloride
Total Protein
Glucose
Albumin as a percent of protein electrophoresis
Protein Electrophoresis
The assayed values shall be listed on the package insert next to the corresponding constituent.
Materials used in the manufacture of the product shall be a grade suitable for its use as a control.
Workmanship. The product shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Bottle (BT). One leakproof bottle containing 5 ml, together with a package insert, as specified, constitutes one unit.
