The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a reference manual for identifying clinically significant anaerobic bacteria.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be an analytical profile index in the form of a reference manual, that contains an interpretation scheme to be used in identifying clinically significant anaerobic bacteria.
Shall be compatible for use with the Analytab Products API 20A test kit.
Shall use 20 different differential media for performing the following 21 biochemical tests:
1. Indole
2. Urease
3. Glucose
4. Mannitol
5. Lactose
6. Saccharose
7. Maltose
8. Salicin
9. (d+) Xylose
10. (1+) Arabinose
11. Glycerol
12. Cellobiose
13. Mannose
14. Melezitose

17. Rhamnose
18. Trehalose
19. Gelatin
20. Esculin
21. Catalase
Workmanship. The analytical profile index shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One index, as specified, constitutes one unit.
