COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
FECAL SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION KIT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a veterinary kit which is suitable for the collection and .processing of fecal specimen.
Salient characteristics:
The unit shall be a veterinary kit which allows collection and processing to be accomplished in the same container. The kit shall eliminate the need for personnel to transfer or come in contact with the stool sample. The kit shall consist of the following items:

Workmanship. The collection kit shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). Each kit containing one hundred disposable vials with instructions for use, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
